![]() The only thing for ships to do without depth charges will be to turn stern and run away(because outside of uber ahistorical speeds, surfaced and underwater, subs are not ever going to catch up to surface ships). Torps aren't going to work because the sub will just dive underneath them. I don't expect random players to be able to replicate bot results when that close. In fact, I think the only time I was killed by guns was when I was under 2km to the NC's with all three of their turrets able to train on me. Even with LOLbotaccuracy, periscope depth defeated 95% of a main gun salvo. Other than the LOLbotaccuracy, the only real threat were the catapults that shot depth charges and the DDs with the depth charges. So the best I'm hoping for is that they'll avoid the laughably cartoonish stuff, like what was seen in the Halloween event(subs that go 30kts underwater), and end up with subs being so weak that even less people play them than the old RTS CVs.Īs for the sentence I didn't quote(i still want to reply to it), I think you know what I mean. Knowing WG, this isn't how it'll go, they'll definitely try to shoehorn them into random battles. Plus maybe an Op or two where you have to combat enemy submarines. In fact, I think having them with their own scenarios/operations running concurrent with the surface ship operations would be fun. ![]() I'm saying you guys better be prepared because I think WG is going to add subs later this year.Īs I've stated many times since the Halloween event testing the overall concept, I'm perfectly fine with submarines in the game, so long as they stay in a PvE scenario.
